Biography
Mrs. Kandia KAMISSOKO CAMARA is a member of the Government of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire since December 04, 2010.
She occupies since September 4, 2019, the post of Minister of National Education, Technical Education and Vocational Training.
Previously, she was Minister of National Education, Minister Delegate for Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, Women and Family and Social Affairs of the 04 December 2010 to June 1st, 2011, before managing from this date, that of the National Education from June 1st, 2011 to November 14th, 2012.
Since then, she has been chairing the affairs of National Education, Technical Education and Vocational Training in Côte d'Ivoire.
It should also be noted that Minister Kandia CAMARA, prior to her appointment to the Government, from September 2003 to November 2010, worked as a Special Advisor in the office of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Reconciliation and Transition of Côte d'Ivoire.
At the political level, she made a firm commitment to the triumph of democracy and the promotion of women's rights in the Rassemblement des Républicains where she successively held the post of National President of the Rally of Republican Women (RFR), Deputy Secretary General for Formation, Animation, Solidarity and Deputy Spokesman of the RDR. In solidarity with the cause of women all over the world, she is a member of the International Women's Liberal Network, where she is Vice President.
Always concerned about the improvement of the living conditions of people, Ivoirians gave it back to her by making her MP in the National Assembly of the district of Abobo-Gare, of which she is also a member of the Municipal Council. .
A top-level sportswoman during her school and university years, she was the Handball Ivory Coast Champion from 1974 to 1980 and the African Handball Champion in 1981.
Kandia KAMISSOKO CAMARA was born in Abidjan. She graduated from the National University of Abidjan Ivory Coast and is also a graduate of Lancaster University in England.
Her rich professional and sports career has been recognized nationally. This earned her the rank of Commander of the Order of Merit of the National Education and Commander of the Order of Sports Merit of Côte d'Ivoire.
She is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
