Biography
Isabel Tarling is a Learning Science scholar and a distinguished Digital Learning Specialist. With a PhD in Education Technologies and Teacher Professional Development from the University of Cape Town (UCT), she has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to advancing education and digital learning. As the director of Limina Education Services, Dr. Tarling has been at the forefront of educational innovation and has contributed significantly to local and international projects. Her consulting work has involved collaborations with prestigious organisations such as UNESCO, the GIZ, Common Sense, GOPA, and the British Council. Her multifaceted contributions span the development of web-based training courses, research endeavours, and the critical task of monitoring and evaluating various learning projects. Notably, in 2019, Dr. Tarling embarked on a mission with the Association of African Universities, empowering Science Granting Councils across Africa and researchers in different countries with the skills required to excel in research and evaluation.
Dr. Tarling's expertise is widely recognized through her numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, books, and various other academic platforms. Currently, she leads the research component of the Digital Standards Project, a collaborative effort among diverse stakeholders in education to establish digital standards tailored for different players within the sector.
