Biography
Curriculum Vitae – Tabo Olok Geoffrey
Mr. Tabo is a lecturer of computer science and Information Technology and former head of Computer Science department at Gulu University. Mr. Tabo holds and Bachelor of Science degree and a master’s degree in Computer Science (CIS option) of Makerere University, Uganda. He is a PhD Candidate now writing his PhD dissertation entitled “Designing Infrastructure for Learning: Technology and Human Praxis” from Aalborg University, Denmark.
Following his commitment to research and development, Tabo has been involved in many research and development projects. To outline a few, he was the project Investigator for “Knowledge and Attitudes of Doctors towards e-Health as Solution to Healthcare Delivery in Government and Private Hospitals in Northern Uganda” a MESAU funded research. This research project produced two publications in a peer reviewed international journal. He was one of the Project Investigators of the “ICT for war affected youth in Acholi and Lango sub-region”, “GIS for Animal-human conflict management in Amuru district”. In other project related roles he has been ICT support Officer to many projects including THRiVE, NUFFIC, Building stronger Universities, USAID-NUTI, MEPI-MESAU and WCS Wild project. In THRiVE II he serves as the assistant to the CoPI for Gulu Institutional Implementation Committee. He is, however, currently the deputy coordinator (Technical) for the Building Stringer Universities Project phase III at Gulu University.
Mr. Tabo has received several trainings in research administration, grants, proposal, research writing, scientific publications, and specialised training on data management and analysis using SPSS, Nvivo. He also attended several research dissemination conferences including European Association for Technology Enhance Learning (EATEL) 2017/18 conferences, Participatory Design, and Africa GIS conference, Computing and ICT Conferences.
