Biography
Damaris Ndua is the Fellowship Programme Lead at the Mawazo Institute, where she supports the next generation of African women researchers through the Fellowship Programme. With a background in the development space and experience in education programmes, youth empowerment, and workforce development, Damaris brings a unique lens to creating inclusive opportunities for underrepresented groups.
At Mawazo, she leads the design and implementation of the flagship Mawazo Fellowship Programme, which supports early-career African women researchers with funding, training, and mentorship to become thought leaders and changemakers. Damaris is particularly passionate about advancing gender equity and ensuring that women from structurally disadvantaged and underserved communities have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
Prior to joining Mawazo, Damaris held leadership roles at Sainath Education Institute and Generation Kenya, and served as a board member at the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi.
