Biography
Canadian national Caroline St-Hilaire holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Quebec in Montreal and has held management and administrative positions, including serving as Administrator at the Society for Reproduction Rights of Authors, Publishers and Composers of Quebec (SODRAC) and at the Foundation for the Promotion of Music Successors in the Francophone Space (SOPREF).
Political career
Ms St-Hilaire was a member of the Canadian Parliament for four terms, from 1997 to 2008, where she was responsible for issues related to women's rights, transportation, human rights, and sports.
From 2009 to 2017, she was the first woman to hold the position of mayor of Longueuil - the 5th largest city in Quebec - where she improved public finances.
In addition, she also serves as president of the Longueuil Agglomeration Council and vice-president of the executive committee of the Montreal Metropolitan Community.
Communication
From 2017 to 2021, Ms St-Hilaire was a political analyst on the LCN/TVA television network and Qub radio. She then joined the communication and public relations agency Leliken as Vice President of Government Relations.
Ms St-Hilaire has also worked to promote the representation of women in decision-making positions and has been a UNICEF ambassador.
Francophonie
In 2023, Caroline St-Hilaire was appointed Administrator of the OIF by the Secretary-General of the Francophonie following the extraordinary Permanent Council of the Francophonie (CPF) held on March 21, 2023.
