Biography
Calvin, PhD, is a lecturer at the University of Dodoma and a member of the National Committee for Basic Education Curriculum Review in Tanzania. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Alberta (UoA), Edmonton, Canada. He received several prestigious academic awards for outstanding performance in the doctoral program, including the Bacchus Graduate Research Prize, the Doctoral Student Excellence Award, and the Melba Sadler Scholarship in Education, earning membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society. Calvin has extensive experience in researching, conducting, and reviewing tech-embedded TPD programmes. He has worked with Tanzania's Ministry of Education over the past decade to assist in the implementation, oversight, and evaluation of TPD initiatives, aiming to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of TPD in Tanzania. Additionally, he has been supporting the Government of Tanzania in conducting monitoring, evaluation, and learning of educational developments over the past 5 years. His work transcends disciplinary boundaries, drawing from the reservoir of experiential, technological, and ancestral wisdom of Ubuntu, as well as other forms of knowledge. He has worked for several organizations including the World Bank, Global Affairs Canada, JICA-Tanzania, NORAD, and Global Communities.
