Biography
Dr. C. Rodrigo Sáez Muñoz’s interests include: geopolitics; climate change; water resources; history of current times; digital age privacy; academic standards/accreditations; empowerment of teachers by promoting digital tools; and TVET as catalyst for poverty amelioration, skills development and clean energy transition. An experienced international professional with constant commitment to bridging cultural differences, he has lived on four continents and worked on projects in 60 countries. He possesses deep curiosity, openness to new knowledge and experiences and is tactful, empathetic and gregarious, with optimism for the future.
Rodrigo holds the BA in History (SUNY-USA), MA in International Relations (University of Kent-United Kingdom), and PhD in International Studies; specialization in International History and Politics (Graduate Institute of International Studies and Development, Geneva-Switzerland). At the Graduate Institute he was awarded the Fondation Pierre du Bois Scholarship.
Rodrigo’s extensive business experience includes the international trade sector and a decade in senior management of TV production/distribution. His mid-career pivot to academe deepened his international and cross-cultural knowledge. After receiving his Doctorate he became History, Politics and International Relations Professor and then Provost and Executive Director of a Swiss private university. Currently, he is Secretary General and Director General of Worlddidac Association, a 71 year-old Swiss-based trade association dedicated to improving education and developing synergies and partnerships globally with education sectors, countries and national associations. He focuses on increasing Worlddidac’s membership, especially in the Global South, where “best practices” including digital education/training resources developed by the Association’s members and International Organizations can have the most impact.
