Biography
Kruger Barry is Digital Learning Adviser at The Digital School, whose goal is to reach marginalised learners, wherever they are and regardless of context, to provide quality learning opportunities and deliver the knowledge, skills and competencies they need to thrive in 21st-century society and steer them towards a brighter future.
Barry has extensive experience in the strategic implementation of learning technologies to effect sector-wide transformation across K–12, post-16 and Higher Education, as well as the health, cultural, and third sectors. He has worked on digital transformation initiatives worldwide with organisations such as UNESCO, UNICEF, the European Commission, and the Prime Minister’s Office of Dubai.
He was previously a Director at the UK Learning and Skills Improvement Service and headed departments at the BBC and the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (Becta).
His expertise covers the strategic deployment of digital platforms, software, and resources, supported by thorough user-needs evaluation and baseline research to ensure system-wide learning impacts through digital transformation.
He has contributed to the development of edtech standards for organisations such as ISO, BSI, and IMS.
