Biography
Aidah Bukubuza is a passionate advocate for digital transformation, innovation, and gender-inclusive technology. She holds an MSc in Digital Information Management and Systems Innovation from the University of Leeds in the UK, and a certification in Business, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship from Northwestern University in the USA. With over a decade of experience in digital advocacy, Aidah specializes in ICT4D, Internet governance, AI policy, and ethical technology for social impact.
She is the founding partner and team leader of AYDIA Gender and Technology Initiative (AGTI) Uganda, a nonprofit organization promoting inclusive digital solutions and STEM education. Through AGTI, Aidah has led transformative projects and STEM bootcamps in collaboration with the US Embassy in Kampala and global organizations like Google Impact Amplifier and Women Techmakers, providing digital skills training to over 800 young women and girls.
Aidah is a recognized digital rights advocate, focusing on online safety, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, and ethical digital engagement. She consults for governments, NGOs, and tech companies, and is a sought-after speaker on digital equity, digital rights, and responsible innovation.
Her work has helped shape digital literacy and policy in Ugandan institutions. She has received recognition as a Mandela Washington Fellow (2018) and a Chevening Scholar (2021/22). Aidah envisions a future where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive in the digital world through STEM and ethical technology.
