Biography
A graduate of Business Computing and Information Technology from University of Wales, United Kingdom, Suleiman Adamu has been very active in the ICT sector for over a decade with vast experience in IT service support and infrastructure design. He is also experienced in website, desktop, and mobile applications development.
His passion for using ICT as a tool for educational development in Nigeria, and Africa in general, grows when he first joined the services of Nigerian University System through one of the prominent private Universities in Nigeria in 2012 as System Analyst and Programmer. During his services, he developed and led a team of programmers in deploying an ERP system for the university that comprises of various university’s operational services such as students result compilation module, attendance management, accounting module, LMS, inventory/requisition system etc.
Adamu is currently the Head of ICT Unit of Sule Lamido University in Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, Nigeria and is charged with the responsibilities of: consolidating the philosophy of an ICT-driven University vision of Sule Lamido University (SLU) by creating, developing and maintaining an ICT environment that best meets its infrastructural requirements; supporting the delivery of digital systems and services to the University community; monitoring and evaluating the performance of large ICT projects; periodic review of the University’s ICT policy, strategy and plans in line with its automation priorities and preparing the University-wide ICT budget and allocation of ICT resources to user departments for management consideration.
An experienced Project Manager, Adamu has over a decade-long experience in programming languages, database languages and manipulation tools such as ASP, PHP, C#, Java, Python; SQL, MySQL, MS SQL, SQLite. His areas of interest include Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Data Warehousing, Machine Learning, Expert Systems and ICT for Development.
