Rwagasana Gerard

Biography

Rwagasana Gerard is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Library at the University of Technology and Arts of Byumba  (Rwanda), holder of Master ICT in Education , MSc in Physics, PGD in Physics' Didactics, Rwagasana is an experienced educator and researcher, an international ICT4E consultant. He is the Director of the ICTEDU Learning Centre, created to allow people excluded from the formal education sector to access higher education through elearning and OERs. He is a visitor lecturer at various public and private Rwandan higher educational institutions. He taught Physics in Universities of Rwanda, Congo, Niger and Burundi, introduced elearning mode of teaching at the National University of Rwanda (NUR) and played the major role in designing and implementation of the Centre for Instructional Technology at NUR. He served as Director of the Centre for Instructional Technology and the African Virtual University’s Learning Centre at the NUR and has organized many local and regional workshops for university staff in eLearning pedagogy and tools. Rwagasana is an active member of the OER Foundation and of Wikieducator Network of educators.
