Biography

Pamela Durán-Díaz is an architect with a PhD in Urbanism and two postdocs on cultural landscapes and land governance.

She is a Scientific Researcher at the Technical Unviersity of Munich and coordinator of the Doctoral and Master's Programmes on Land Management and Geospatial Science. She is also the Science Manager of the Land Management team of AI4EI "The Potential of AI in Extractive Industries to Promote Multi-Objective Optimization", on land governance issues in Sub-Saharan Africa in the transition to renewable energies.

Pamela Durán-Díaz is the scientific advisor for TU eMpower Africa and Plant a Seed, as well as the co-convener of the Sustainability team of Our World Heritage Foundation, and lecturer in UNESCO Chair FLACAM.

She leads research projects that use land management tools to generate intervention strategies that boost land governance, in which the natural and built environments are as important as built and intangible heritage, hence the local culture acts as a catalyst for development.
