Biography
Leonie Schoelen, B.A. English Studies, Politics and Society, University of Bonn, Germany, and M.A. Peace and Conflict Studies, University of St Andrews, Scotland/UK, is aformer Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ GmbH- German Development Cooperation)StudentAffairsconsultant in Algeria and United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) and Centre for Development Research (Zentrum fuer Entwicklungsforschung -ZEF) Project Associate in Germany after having gained work experience in India and Benin. She is presently a first-year PhD candidate in Education Sciences and Sociology in a co-tutorship at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, and Paris Descartes University, France. Her dissertation is about the transformation of the Algerian higher education system (1962-2017). She is a Young Researcher mentee of the German Society for Higher Education Research. She receives a full doctoral scholarship by Cusanuswerk, Germany.
