Joel Olson

Biography

Joel Olson is an education advisor and technical consultant at The Wellspring Foundation for Education in Rwanda. Joel has a Masters of Educational Leadership and conducted extensive research into effective parent-teacher communication using technology. He successfully initiated and implemented various communication platforms in order to reach and engage more than 650 parents in a Kigali school. 

Working with The Wellspring Foundation for Education and partnering with a Kigali business, he successfully built and designed a digital data collection tool that Wellspring uses on tablets for effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting of a whole school development program across numerous Rwandan schools.  

Joel has been a teacher and educational leader in Canada and Rwanda, a TEDx speaker, and technology enthusiast for classrooms. He is passionate about integrating technology in the classroom, such as using LEGO Robotics to teach critical thinking skills for gifted and talented children.
