Biography
Jide King has over four years of experience in training and people development and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He thrives in an environment that allows for growth and development. During my years at West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE), I coordinated the delivery of over 1,800 hours of Soft Skills Training to unemployed youths in Lagos, Nigeria, which enabled these youths to get on jobs and have an income transformation of over 150% in a one-year post-training period. I led the design and delivery of learning material for different learning programmes at WAVE. I also partook in the developing and mentoring of talents for the organization which expanded the company size and allowed for more ease in meeting targets. I also worked in collaboration with my team lead and programs lead to create a process for documenting the daily activities of the department which then allowed for new hires to quickly get a hang of their roles as part of the organization's onboarding process. During this period, I spear-headed the creating of a Learning Management System (LMS) so as to enable the organization to better match its trained alumni to job opportunities. I have represented my organization at several speaking engagements, including the Africa Forum on Youth Skills and Enterprise in The Digital Era, which took place in Tunisia. Before working at WAVE, I worked as a teacher in a government-owned secondary school where I created systems for tracking student’s performance and equally grading tests and assignments. I enjoy focusing on topics of youth development and have a passion for education and learning
