Biography
Jane is a lecturer in the Faculty of Computing & Informatics at Mbarara University of Science and Technology-Uganda. She is passionate about developing digital interventions for low resource setting to improve education and health care. She is currently doing a PhD in Computer Science at Humboldt University of Berlin-Germany. Her research is about access control models for healthcare systems especially for low literacy and low resource settings. She is a co-investigator on the MatHealth project whose aim is to support maternal healthcare through implementation of a multimedia-based intervention for pregnant illiterate women in rural Southwestern Uganda. The project is funded by the German Ministry for Education and Research. She is a member of CAMTech-a global consortium of academic, clinical, corporate & implementation partners working to co-create, test & deploy innovative, high quality and affordable health technologies to improve health outcomes in the poorest regions of the world.
