Jan Kennis

Biography

Jan Kennis holds a MsC and PhD in Biology (University of Antwerp, Belgium). His PhD involved extensive fieldwork in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He has extensive experience in the process of digitalization in Congolese Universities, both from the pedagogical as well as the management perspective. With a flexible and inventive mindset, he tackles problems with a down-to-earth problem-solver approach. He likes teaching - both in Belgium and in Africa - in a broad range of topics such as research methodology, ICT-related skills, basic statistics, biodiversity and bio-ethics. He is currently ‘Technology Enhanced Learning Coordinator’ within the education unit at ITM’s Clinical Sciences Department. He believes technology can improve quality in education and management through enhanced collaboration and innovation. He is very much interested in Digital for Development (or as he prefers: aiming at further development in a digital world).
