Biography
Project Manager for e/merge Africa, Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT), University of Cape Town. I am based at the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. I graduated with an MA in Information Studies in 2006 from the University of Aarhus, Denmark before relocating to South Africa. My research interests include e-learning, MOOCs and online courses, Communities of Practice. I have been involved with educational technology in various ways the past ten years and through my involvement with the e/merge Africa project it’s been nearly a decade of focus on Higher Education throughout the African continent. I became involved with e/merge Africa project since it was first created as an annual two-week online conference once every two years. I presented in the e/merge conference in 2008 and was a Project Manager for the e/merge conference 2012 and then offered the position as Project Manager for e/merge Africa in 2014. My future plans involve planning for a PhD in the field of educational technology, preferably with a strong African focus.
