After studying at Cambridge, Adam started his career on the BBC’s prestigious graduate training scheme in London. He worked on staff for the broadcaster for 12 years as a journalist, producer and executive producer. He produced BBC primetime current affairs shows like Panorama and the Money Programme as well as making documentaries all over the world. After that he worked in the independent TV production sector producing and executive producing documentaries for ITV, France 5, PBS, RTE, SBS and other international broadcasters as well as organisations including UNHCR, UK National School of Government, UK Special Forces, Oxford University and the British Council.

In 2016 Adam founded Digital Learning Associates Ltd with a former BBC colleague, Stephen Haggard, with the aim of bringing the quality of broadcast TV to education video. The company supplies many of the world’s leading publishers and learning platforms with video and has been awarded the British Council’s prestigious ELTons prize for Innovation in learner resources. Around the globe over 15 million learners use DLA video as part of their English language studies. DLA also works with the British Council, UNHCR and UNICEF on international projects for refugee education in English and teacher training.

Outside work Adam and his husband Kassim split their time between the UK and East Africa. Adam has also served as a non-executive director of the Aga Khan’s Nation Media Group in Africa. He is a regular speaker at conferences and events on English language learning and media in education, such as IATEFL, BETT and CMC and in the past at Online Educa and eLearning Africa
